Can an S-type wear ugly sneakers? – the question popped up in the Instagram comments. To answer it I am going to use the shot  by Sartorialist from July 21, of 2017,  he made in Paris after the Louis Vuitton show. The year  the ugly sneakers trend was testing its powers.

Take a note how  the silhouette is slightly resembling of La Sylphide.  The ballerina getting ready to enter the stage. Her pointe shoes are in resting position, slightly clumsy, which does not steal from their high tech might.  The  ballet reference can take you back to a   “fouetté thigh” , the phenomena that  S-types are notorious for.

There is no contrast between “the ugly” sneakers and the skirt here. They are both white.  The design of the skirt, the fabric, the Safari references are balancing the sneakers.  In a very similar way the tutu works with the pointe shoes, which are not as weightless as they may look from our mezzanine seat.

Which is the key for the ugly sneakers formula in the  S-type beauty wardrobe. Pairing white sneakers with jeans or dark bottoms create a tremendous contrast that Siren types can not pull off well.  This is more of  a Z-Type beauty territory.  Make no contrast with your bottom and blend the ugly sneakers in, like the heroine of the Sartorialist picture did.  In this case white sneakers mean white skirt, dress or pants.  And they better have more character than your sneakers and the ugly sneakers already have a lot of character.

If you want to tone it down,  switch to other  pastel colors in both, your ugly sneakers and your clothes. Some of the versions in nude, grey and pastel green are waiting for you on the right. My own every day version of the ugly sneaker for a Siren includes  nude sneakers and an a silk midi-dress. The print of the tailoring patterns bring the desired undone element, which is usually hard to blend into the S-type physique.
